A powerful lunar eclipse on 3 March 2026 sets the stage for both celestial upheaval and inner transformation, and Acharya Raj Mishra explains how it shapes the lives of all twelve zodiac signs.
According to Acharya ji, a total lunar eclipse will occur on 3 March 2026, starting at 3:20 pm and ending at 6:47 pm Indian time.
He notes that the Sutak (inauspicious) period for this eclipse will begin around 6:20 am on the same day, and the event takes place on a Tuesday in Leo sign under Purva Phalguni nakshatra.
This combination, he says, is especially intense because Leo, Purva Phalguni, the month of Phalgun, and Tuesday together create unusual results for the world and for individuals. At the same time, Mars and Rahu, two mutually hostile planets symbolising fire and explosives, will transit with other planets in the eleventh house (Kumbh) of the natural zodiac, amplifying the eclipse’s impact on collective events and financial markets.
Acharya ji links this eclipse pattern with a high probability of disruptive events in the 15 days around the eclipse.
He predicts that due to Mars–Rahu energy and the earlier eclipse in Dhanishta (a Mars-ruled nakshatra), people may witness earthquakes, large-scale fire incidents and clashes between countries.
Focusing on India, he specifically points to Eastern Rajasthan and Western Madhya Pradesh as regions where unrest or disturbances could surface after the eclipse, urging residents to stay especially careful.
He also foresees notable volatility in the share market, explaining that Saturn—lord of the eleventh house of finance and market—is going combust around 8 March, creating a sizeable shift in stocks and financial trends.
For business people, he advises very cautious decision-making during and shortly after this period, warning against haste in investments or risky ventures.
He adds that when an eclipse falls on a Tuesday, incidents of theft and fire accidents tend to increase, so households should check electrical wiring, fire safety equipment and vehicle fuel systems like CNG kits more carefully.
The astrologer highlights that an eclipse in the month of Phalgun tends to favour people in music, film, media and performing arts.
He suggests that singers, musicians, actors, and those connected with the music and entertainment industry are likely to receive more work, success and visibility in the period following this eclipse.
However, he cautions that this same eclipse can be challenging for women in general, spiritual leaders, saints, storytellers, intense practitioners (tapasvis), and those in protective or martial roles such as army, police, and certain bureaucrats.
According to him, some of these individuals may face scandals, public controversies or career troubles after the eclipse, and a few bureaucrats may see their names dragged into corruption or legal issues.
He extends the warning to people dealing in weapons, gym and sports equipment, or those whose work revolves around physical protection and security, advising them to remain alert and restrained in decisions.
Acharya ji then describes how this Chandra Grahan may influence each zodiac sign, emphasising that intensity can vary based on individual horoscopes.
Aries (Mesh): The eclipse is not considered favourable, with possible challenges related to children, friends, education and love relationships.
Taurus (Vrish): Property-related matters and relationships with someone very close to the heart can become strained; he also advises careful driving and emotional control.
Gemini (Mithun): The period can be beneficial, bringing increased confidence, useful travels and financial gains or opportunities.
Cancer (Kark): There is a risk of monetary loss, problematic investments and disturbed harmony within the family environment.
Leo (Singh): As the eclipse occurs in Leo, natives are asked to watch their health carefully and guard their reputation against defamation or image damage.
Virgo (Kanya): He sees the potential for losses, so Virgo natives should be cautious about buying, selling or making new investments.
Libra (Tula): This sign could receive strong financial benefits, including gains from share market, speculation or lotteries, if handled wisely.
Scorpio (Vrishchik): Professional life may improve significantly, with good chances of positive changes and upgrades in career or work profile.
Sagittarius (Dhanu): Interest in spirituality, worship and religious activities may reduce, and those engaged in research may face delays or blocks.
Capricorn (Makar): He strongly advises careful driving for at least 15 days before and after the eclipse, as the risk of accidents is higher.
Aquarius (Kumbh): Life partner and marital circumstances need special attention; he prays for their safety and mentions performing a special yajna for their wellbeing.
Pisces (Meen): The eclipse appears favourable, especially in defeating enemies and overcoming opposition or hidden rivals.
A substantial part of his talk focuses on why scriptures advise caution regarding food and behaviour during an eclipse.
He explains that the body’s biological clock, which is adapted to a certain balance of light and darkness, gets disturbed during eclipses, with potential effects on both physical and mental health.
He connects lunar influence to the mind, noting that the brain contains a large percentage of water and, like the ocean’s tides, can respond to changes in the Moon’s energy.
During an eclipse, the Moon does not receive normal light from the Sun, so the mental energy reflected to humans is also affected, which can increase overthinking, anxiety, negative thoughts and phobias.
Because of this heightened sensitivity, he recommends avoiding alcohol and non-vegetarian food for at least five days before and after the eclipse, arguing that such substances can worsen mental imbalance and digestive issues.
He says that if someone must eat during the eclipse—such as children, elderly people, or those with medical issues—they should choose light, easily digestible items like fruits, milk, curd and simple liquids, preferably mixed with Ganga water.
Pregnant women, he adds, should be especially careful: avoid unnecessary cutting or breaking activities, loud TV, shouting or emotional extremes, and not sleep excessively during the eclipse if possible.
He clarifies that the advice is not blind superstition but relates to potential effects on the developing baby’s brain, given how strongly the mind and nervous system react to lunar disturbances.
Acharya ji urges people to use the eclipse window for meditation, mantra chanting and inner work rather than fear.
He notes that gamma waves in the brain become disturbed, making spiritual practices particularly powerful tools to stabilise the mind and reduce negativity.
He suggests that those who cannot fully follow strict rules should at least avoid extreme behaviour and keep their diet satvik and simple, stressing that even small precautions can reduce problems.
He also mentions that he will perform a special yajna for protection, and invites people to contact him if they wish to participate, arrange a home visit, or host spiritual events such as Shiv Puran Katha, Bhagwat Katha, Ram Katha or musical Sundarkand.
He prays that the lunar eclipse of 3 March 2026 becomes an opportunity for awareness rather than fear, and that everyone receives strength to navigate its karmic lessons.
